What were you doing before law school?
I graduated from CSUF in 2005 with a B.A. in history and didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. Was still unsure about law school, so when I got a call from a former professor wanting to recruit me to the graduate program I said sure, that sounds cool. So, I signed up for the M.A. program in History and had a lot of fun – made a lot of friends and got used to the graduate-level courses. It was the best prep for law school a guy could have.
Why did you want to go to law school?
I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge; I must know everything and anything, it is a hunger for learning that I have had since I was a kid. Fast forward years later and I’m fresh out of college, I write great research papers on historical topics like the historiography surrounding Machiavelli or the decline of chivalry in 14th Century France, and I have this unsatiable desire to move on to a future where I learn everything about how the world works, being able to occupy a position of power to move and shape the world in some form or another, and put my writing ability to good work. Law school just seemed like a no-brainer to me.
Erick,
I have been reading your very well- written and researched blog, Strict Liability in Blog, as I prepare a memo for my boss, a U.S. Congressman from Northern California, on the subject of tribal disenrollments. Can you send me your email address (LinkedIn won’t let me send you a message!) so that I may write you a more detailed note? I can be reached at laura.knapp (at) mail.house.gov or by phone at (202) 225-3311.
Many thanks,
Laura Knapp
